CONSUMER WARNING!: I recently made 2 separate purchases from newfrog.com, a Chinese company. This was before I read their customer service ratings at Trustpilot https://ca.trustpilot.com/review/newfrog.com
I won't bother with the sordid details of my own experiences with them. If you see mailing from them in your inbox, please just hit the spam button and save yourself a whole lot of grief and frustration.
If you own one of these cheap, quad core, Android tablets with the fake model number V140D, you have a deeply infected Android tablet that wiil be of little or no use to you. It will mostly just drive you completely crazy. After trying a recovery, it would not even allow me to sign into Google. Actually, the tablet is model V11 and this tutorial will help you get it back to the correct firmware for V11. I looked and looked online for the solution for this and mainly found attempts to fix the problem using Android SDK and some tools from the manufacturer known as Phoenix Suit and LiveSuit. I spent many hours pusuing these "solutions" and the end result was simply a whole day of wasted time. In the end, I totally bricked the unit and it would not even start up, no matter what I did.
I finally found the REAL, quick and EASY solution on Youtube in a yawn inspiring video that is over 8 minutes long:
The saving grace for these tablets is that they are designed to be restored quickly and easily, through the use of a properly formatted and imaged micro SD card. The video above s l o w l y outlines the steps and is only useful for seeing the actual steps of using a tool called PhoenixCard to create the properly imaged SD card.
He does leave out one very important step... selecting and downloading the proper image file to restore this puppy with the correct, malware free firmware.
Te correct image for my unit was

Once you have the Phoenixcard tool and image file, you can use them to create a properly imaged micro SD card for MALWARE FREE, stock firmware restoration that will take about 5 minutes.
What you will need :
PheonixCard Tool: https://androidmtk.com/download-phoenixcard-tool
MicroSD card and Micro SD card to SD card adaptor. You will need to use the SD card slot in the computer itself to image the Micro SD card. An external USB SD card reader will not work and will produce an error during imaging.

7zip or other program that can decompress the rar image file.
The final decompressed .IMG file will be:
You will use the PhoenixCard tool to format and "burn" the correct image to the micro SD card for a quick, 100% malware free restoration of your tablet.
1. Download the proper image file and the Phoenixcard tool (see links above)
2. Install PhoenixCard tool and decompress .rar file to .IMG file.
3. Place Micro SD card in SD adaptor and insert into computer, so that it mounts as a drive in My Computer.
4. Run PhoenixCard tool and use it to image correct .IMG file to Micro SD card.
5. Once you have the image on the micro SD card, eject the card from the computer, remove the micro SD card from the adaptor and insert it all the way into tablet. Power on the tablet. It will instantly begin install the new image which takes about 5 minutes.
6. DONE! Now restart the unit and enjoy your new malware free tablet!
